Inner Child

My hair changed from straight to curly,

My demeanor changed from soft to burly,

I was no longer daddy’s little princess,

I wanted more in life than looking forward to recess,

I matured and matured and matured,

My ideologies changed regarding my culture,

I no longer blindly followed my parent’s beliefs,

I became more cognizant of the world around me,

Science prevailed in my early youth,

It stuck with me through and through,

My imagination as a child stimulates my early adulthood hypotheses,

It helps me think outside the box and with 90 degrees,

I am still a child at heart,

But now i’m just a little more honest and tart
