inner city blues

for pittsburgh

street corners is the place to start your careers

an ounce, pound kilo, gram

behind those bar is where you became a "man"

guns for the young to kill the young

we are killing each other

no more love towards our brothers

and our sisters cry because they are now single mothers

old heads and dope

i hope you can cope, with whatever you're dealing with

needles, pipes, and pills

withdraws, shakes, and chills

we all say "but what do we have to lose?"

cries of the inner city blues
