Inner city struggle
I was born in the struggle
Pops left me always getting into trouble
Never knew when my next meal was
Savoring every precious moment of my life
Pop Pop Pop
Shots outside my room I had to dash
Gangs going at it again always a contant clash
Getting out of this mess is always on my mind.
Making good grades and hanging with the smart kids
Feeding my mind rich nourishment
It's then when I saw a change
Everything in my life started to get rearranged
Picked up a new sport they call it golf
Changing my life more than ever
Meeting new people and getting even better
The struggle is always there creeping up behind me
The stress is weighing down on my mind
I'm tired of all of this pain
I'm crying out please somone help
God reaches his hand out and helps me up
Puts me on the righ track I'm never going back
Wake every moring and thank God
Without him things would be pretty odd
But isn't that the world we live in
I see the light at the end of the tunnel
Running full speed into succss
I'm breaking free at last
I know who I am now, I know my place
All thanks to God he gets all the glory
