The Inner Me

Yes she is pretty Never did I mention she was top notch At times she wish she had the spot I have never heard her story, Yet alone know her past So today I took the time to ask Why are you so sad and occasionally mad Why do you rarely smile yet alone laugh Is there something you would like to say Is there something you see Believe me, you can trust me You have this glow but you just don't know People love you and yes you are beautiful No need in being critical Your trying to hide the pain that lies inside At times you even lie Lie about who you are and even your identity Those baby are just tricks of the enemy Now you're trying to see who you really are That answer lies within your heart God made no mistake He put you in place to create what others couldn't make Don't continue to debate your purpose Babygirl you are worth it Just open your eyes and don't be shy Clean yourself up there's no need to cry Just pray and ask God for guidance You are a Queen, ruler over many things This is not a dream it's reality Funny thing is this person was me

I've held on to these poem for years now. I always return to it to remind me of where I came from and who I am today.
