Innocence

Innocence is gone.

Beauty is despair. It can

Change minds, but not mine.

Nice haiku! Elegantly told. It feels almost like an epigram, or a maxim. I think my favorite part here is the half rhyme between "mine" and "mind". I like the definiteness, or tone of finality, here in "It can / Change minds, but not mine". Things to think about for the future: usually, if you use a word as a title, you don't have to reuse it in the poem itself. That would free you up to use other words to "evoke" or express innocence without actually using that specific word. I think what you could do is keep this poem as it is, and then write another haiku that uses more images to convey / express what it is that you're aiming to express. A good link to have a look at is this one: ( http://www.haikuworld.org/begin/mdwelch.tentips.html ) If what you write wants to be longer than a haiku, then go with that. Let the material itself tell you want the poem wants to be. Finally, Haiku can be challenging, to get eveything you want to say into one space is hard, so congrats on this one!
