Innocence

Shattered glass on the floor Pieces in my arm and shoulder I cry softly as I see the scene Acknowledging the views in the corner I get up, stumble with every step Hearing my thick blood drip on the ground My eyes adjusting to the room and my mistakes being found I turn on the lights and blink a few times My soul just split in half I saw that I committed a crime Your body lying so still being so lifeless I bend down next to you Your face, I start to caress I immediately saw memories Of what happened the previous night What started as a celebration Turned into a dangerous fight I've never been so angry before I was tricked! I was played! It was between us and my life I chose me to be saved You pulled out a gun Pointing it directly to my face Yelling and screaming back and forth Saying, "I never loved you in the first place!" The look in your eyes Was not the real you They were vacant and fake This is something you'd never do My hair is a complete mess My clothes are torn and ripped to shreds I fixate my eyes, and get back to reality The lifeless you is dead. I really trusted you, I was so stupid! Because now the event occured I turn to look into a mirror and asked myself, "Who is this monster?" I wipe my face and my tears and take a deep breath To count all the time of my life I had left. The police sirens are getting stronger I now only have a few moments So thank you, cruel, cruel world for taking away all of my innocence.
