Innocence

I came across a man today, yet he is young at heart.

It seemed as though his boyish pains prevented Man's new start.

I led him to a wiser man and gave him chance to think.

He didnt know his thirst was dry, he was allowed to drink.

One drink may be the only one allowed to reach the heart,

yet if the drink is well preserved, theres more hope for fresh new starts

I came across a man today, whose wound is still anew

and though he hides his rage and hurt, he'll still do good for you.

i try to dress his scars and cuts with patience and kind words.

yet i find i compromise my own singing with birds.

still i believe that time will carry hurts of the unseen.

but in this time theres no room in recipe for mean.
