Innocence Poem

Waves crashing along the sandy shore.

A flock of seagulls chattering away

up in the cloudy, gray sky.

That salty, but fresh smell

meets my nose.

Carefree is one word that could

describe my feeling at that moment

I’m in my lavender shorts

and gray Scooby-Doo sweatshirt

Taking “real” pictures, as far as I

am concerned, with my new,

yellow toy camera

In my small hand I hold

a tiny sand crab whose life

is as delicate as mine
