Innocence squashed by Reality

Childhood Innocence, the quiet simple joy of believe the world to be pure. Of looking at the sky and seeing animals in the clouds. Of making friends wherever you go. Until children who don't see the world in color anymore find those who do. The kids whose eyes were opened too soon, forcing the eyes of other open with them. I was an innocently oblivious soul, until others decided I was too "different". They forced me into a world filled with evil words, rude people, and dark shadowy realities clogging up the once bright sky. Now in my life, I know more about those dark shadows then I wish I did. I have had to watch myself slip into the back away from the spotlight I used to live in.
