Innocent Black

Dear mother,

You wait for me in the places I can't see.

There, you patiently scowl from the actions I do.

They insult the meaning of you in my life,

But the love, I didn't ponder, existed,

Till the last drop of pain left out of your body.

You hated me because you didn't truly know me,

So I believed that your love for me was nothing

Like dust in the loneliest corner

That no one bothers to pick up.

I didn't know everything I was is a lie.

Passion is mostly driven by anger,

I had to be everything you despised.

Blindly following my own destruction,

My eyes masked the murdering the knife

I used to cut you out of my life.

Your personality and faith harden my feelings for you.

You didn’t truly love me.

I know that now.

The person she created was dead

From the hopes and dreams

My mother crushed after so many years.

Time replacing your pride

In winning a battle,

Which ceased to exist from your mind

The moment you died.

I am covered in roses where

Thorns had not blood,

And my words held no meaning

To shield away the mistakes

I was accounted for

Behind your closed eyes.

Your lies and fake love skinned my heart.

You didn’t truly love me.

I know that now,

So I will let you lie in peace

Thinking that I am someone who adored,

For I loathed you more than anything.

Sincerely,

Your loving daughter
