Insanity

My mind?
So much going on.
I’m stressed from the struggles
Scholarships
Homework
Exams
Scripts
Projects

My mind

Pulled in every direction
No breaks
No time to relax
The muscles of my mind
Too much to do
Too much

The low’s hit.
The worthlessness
The sadness leeching on me, the music of my life slowing in tempo
Like a slow motion clip of the routine, alone in the house
Temptations of numbness in reach but my conscience screaming not to
Distractions
The good things
Text a friend, upbeat music, immerse myself in work
Anything but the dark alone

The high’s arrive.
Parents come home,
I laugh, they cheer me up
My friend replies
They do care.
Love
Everything is good in the world
Nothing can go wrong, everything will work.

Sleep.
A dreamless night again
Repeat.
My mind?
