INSANITY

Insanity (a poem, a story, a lesson, a song):

Once upon a time I found myself "smart";
A thought that taught me, wrote me and wrought me;

"The small fact that unfolded before me, kept unfolding.
I never realized that "facts" could change...
Loops do not expand, they never can,
Not by nightfall... Not by dawn; IT-CANNOT-MOVE-ON".

Time moved on and I often felt that life felt wrong...
Then a creature showed up, I was like, "what the fuck?"
The creature then showed me a switch, "what the fuck?"
It showed me my loop was a glitch;
"Oh... what the fuck?"
"It's inside our brain, quite plain, not hard to miss..." especially when pointed at.

I decidedly turned it off, and boy was there a surprise.
*Inaudible whoosh*
...swept my facts away, my "facts" no longer kept me a stray...

My world changed.

The image was crystal clear, "I can hardly believe it!".
Not only could I see shit, but I could hear it!
I heard the source, the original, it's been so long I could only remember remixes by, say, a stranger named Reginald (and he was a racist).
Indeed, words spoken spoke of THE PERSON SPEAKING, and not the person spoken of.
"My gosh, was everything a test? I can no longer stand apathetic, to fake an interest in life and it's people..."

I named the switch Honesty, and he who held it held the Truth!
I giggled, "brilliant", and gave the creature a big loving smooch!

The creature smiled, but it was far from beguiled...
This was the test, one I did not best...
The look in it's eyes, I should have known it was a spotter of lies...

"But there is a catch..." the creature said, it leaned close to my head...
With radiance he whispered:
"Keep your hand on it, DO NOT be a bitch, only COWARDS let go of the switch!"

"Oh, I understand!" feeling pressure from his spoken demand.

Short before long my fingers gets achy, my concentration dwindles like ketchup on fries.

*****REWIND*****

Once upon a time I found myself "smart";
A thought that taught me, wrote me and wrought me;

"The small fact that unfolded before me, kept unfolding.
I never realized that "facts" could change...
Loops do not expand, they never can,
Not by nightfall... Not by dawn; IT-CANNOT-MOVE-ON".

Every now and then I pull the switch, and tell myself I'm no bitch!
