Insecure and Unsure

Dear Inner Me,

Why do you hold back?

Your thoughts,

Your words,

Your opinions,

Away from view?

Sitting on a fence,

Uncomfortable,

Unable to express.

To feel anything,

but numb.

You are weak.

Yet sometimes, your conviction appears

blazen and bewildering,

And just as sudden,

It is then gone.

Why?

Why lack consistency?

Who are you?

Why don't you know?
