Inside and Out

Hey you, Yes you, The Victoria's Secret Employee who's Eyeing me up Like I don't belong here. Well I'll tell you I have just as much right To be here As you do. Yes, my pants may say Size fourteen And my shirts Are all larges. But I am beautiful. I am beautiful because I know A clear heart Is just as important As clear skin And I am beautiful Because I know Lying leads to Ugly eyes. I am beautiful Because I know That while my dress size Is big So is the size of My compassion And I am beautiful Because I know I make a difference While all you show Is indifference. I am beautiful Because one day, I'll come back here and Be somebody My mother will be Proud of While your's just wonders Where she went wrong. So yes, I am beautiful Regardless of a high number Written in my pants Of the letter "L" Written in my shirts. Because I am a good person And that makes me Beautiful Inside and out.

This is a really beautiful piece! I love the concept and the fact thats it's not ten pages long like most other poems that are successful at sharing their entire message! truly, a great piece:)
