Inside me

Why are people so irritating?

Or is it me who is infuriating?

Do I cry?

Do I sigh?

Do I laugh?

Do I die?

No…

Not on the outside.

But on the inside it’s a different story.

Inside me.

All the smiles… don’t let them fool you.

“Cause in my heart, it’s black and blue.

It’s bruised from the hurt and hate of the years.

It weakens every time I shed my tears.

Inside me.

I can’t think straight.

I need some time to determine my fate.

Where do I stand in this great big world?

Who do I turn to?

Where do I go?

Why can’t all the problems pass?

Why don’t happy endings last?

Inside me.

As time goes on, I get older.

New faces and places and not a shoulder…

To cry on, to lean on at my moment of sorrow.

No hope.

No healing.

Just pain for tomorrow.

Inside me.

Ice taking over

Running through my veins.

Hurt, and hurt bloody tears in my eyes

I’m in need of some wings to soar the skies

But that won’t happen

Not in a million years

‘Cause I’m standing right here

Drenched in my tears.

Inside me.
