inside my head
Trapped in a cage forged by my own hands
Blood dripping from my fingertips as I continue to claw at the lock
Praying for the hinges to snap
Desperate for release
Freedom from this prison I myself have created
Lost within oblivion, Constant chaos
I can’t seem to close my eyes
Night after night as I lie awake the beating of my heart is the only sound that comfort me as my thoughts taunt me endlessly
I forgotten my purpose
I’ve lost myself somewhere down the road
I died inside yet somehow I still feel alive
Shackles bound at my ankles
Wounds that will never heal
Scars that will never heal
My mind is never quiet
My dreams are never safe
Once so ambitious and strong, now so exhausted and worn
Every day is a new one
I can’t explain today because I am still catching up to yesterday
Maybe tomorrow I will have an answer
maybe tomorrow I will give up
so overwhelmed with the conflict
will I live long enough to tell a story worth listening to or will I cave in to soon and miss it all
So desperate to take a break
Yet so eager to dominate and conquer all the crosses my path
so much to do, there just isn’t enough time
Wasted times
Wasted time
So exhausted I just let the waves take me whole
I’ve got a feeling that the pat am on now will eventually extinguish the flames and revive the warrior in me
A life of isolation I know no boundaries
If the only voice I hear is my own I can never truly be free
