Insist upon yourself
I stare at you as you play,
You remind of Beethoven and Mozart in their better days.
You are a prodigy with a different path,
You seem to not care that everything comes to you so fast.
You may be placed with Einstein and Leonardo De Vinci,
But you rather make songs of foolish romances from Helsinki.
You’ve traveled the globe and yet you seem unsatisfied.
You’ve seen the pyramids of Egypt and feel untouched.
I could plan your future in a speed of light,
Yet you rather ignore your talents and feel free from strife.
I’ll tell you this you angel from above,
You’re a genius to me but to many your a fraud.
Why don’t you share the mysteries of life?
If you have, those callings take it and take flight.
I will tell you this as you play the song,
That many can’t even relate to because it’s so hard.
You’re my prodigy you’re my hero but don’t be afraid to fail sometimes.
Because I was afraid to fail at life,
But those who fail aren’t the ones that try,
But are those that stay home and pretend that they don’t mind.
You can solve any math problem that can come to light,
You can read a novel and tell me everything in a single line,
You have dreams of machines that will take us to new heights.
But my dear prodigy never be ashamed of what gifts you might have,
For those who have none wished they could have just one!
Never forget the words chanted by the past,
Never lose sight of what you need to last,
Forget the pressure and forget the strife,
Because my dear prodigy you need to take flight!
