insomnia

another sleepless night, my mind screaming into the silence i’m surrounded with.  there’s no light in my life, just the rippled reflection of a cracked phone screen through drowning eyes. insecurities fill my heart, clasped fingers filtering oxygen through cracked lips into collapsed lungs. no voices or whispers, just deafening silence.  the moon seeps through the curtains i drew to close out the world, a silver glow. i don’t want to be like this, i just want to start living but the nails of this wretched earth scratch away at the walls i’ve built with love and hope, swinging away with a sledgehammer of hate. venom on their tongues; hissing evil.
