insomnia

Its 3AM again

An insomnias song plays in my head

The sound of beach waves and soft seagull calls

Try to pull me to sleep

But it never works.

My eyelids feel heavy

Burning to close them

And stranded in a body that is not mine

I know how the cycle goes

Too tired to exist but yet

Unable to satisfy the exhaustion

But let’s be honest,

You’re only reading this

Because you couldn’t sleep either.

Am I right?
