Insomniac

The slow rotating sealing fan caresses,

Mosquito’s pitch around my head stresses.

The thirst of sleep in early hours and no fill,

wailing and wander in quite without still.

Feeling stiff and veins that tingle,

candlelight shadows that jump and mingle.

Imagination at the edge of scare,

creating half shadows to the madness fare.

Thinking of spirits that steal from the tired,

in slothful chains not being inspired.

The milk of insomnia by body rejected,

vitamin C,B, D with headaches unaffected.

Memories of other days as monotone ache,

waking sense or dreaming soul awake.

Discern of how to turn those spirits to abate?

rendered attitude, with being more compassionate.

To understand oneself to become more pure,

when tempered more and more to endure.

Writing pondering rhymes as mental rest,

maybe some other soul takes it as well for the best.

The morning in slow awake and night concealed,

the way to open the mental door revealed.

https://robertrittel.blogspot.com Living virtualistic through myself. The road I wanted to follow choose me and I can see the cosmos to know itself. I remember only moments where my actions manifested the belief of my passion, choosing my next universe through what I have learned in this one. My fears got lost in dreams, sensing what needed to be done with no thinking. I believe in fairy tales, especially with dragons and how to tame them. I do not need any strange faith to worship that celestial brilliance. Dismissing everything what insults my soul and faithful in those small things, because it is in them where our strength is.

So it's like trying to turn your brain off and getting some sleep but there's too many things bouncing around in your head. Last time I read it I only read the text, not the meaning of the lines. We've all been there before in our lives. Very well done, your points are well received. What a pleasure to read, just on it's face, add the meaning(s), MAGIC!!

Of course you are absolutely right! What I wrote was horrible and I apologize for it. I'm new to this site and I did not understand your formats, critiques, etc. I assumed that you wanted, whomever, to be brutally honest when being the critic. NOW, I understand that your site only wants the positive aspects of a written poem, aknowledged. I truly feel terrible. I am 100% on board with being positive now. I love the idea of only pointing out the many great things that people write about, it's such a highly personal experience writing poems. I really do apologize and now let me go back and re-read the poem and give my opinion once again. We all make boo boos. Sorry. You're not going to believe this but I just had a children's book published and the theme of the book is positive affirmations, and I'm not kidding. It's called Double Take by Terrance Longtin and it's on Amazon.

Please comment only positive and inspirational ideas,

then any critic creates a reflection on yourself and its limitation.

Nobody cares like you want to be addressed, but respect others in regard of their integrity.

Regards Robert

It was ok. Yeah he had some rhymes but some of the lines didn't make any sense. To rhyme just for the sake of rhyming doesn't make it poetry. I'm still not sure what it's about. What format is it in? I'm not trying to be mean or anything. I want people to be brutally honest when they comment on any of my free verse poems.
