Insomniac

Sleep deprivation brings visions of green

Fuzzy white light

But i cannot help it

I stay up most nights

Because i cannot choose

To leave behind, to forget

this gaping, hollow emptiness

This hole in my chest

You dug your way through skin

Bti through the breast plate

You shoved a fist through the debris

Tore away what you worked to create

And i lay awake at night

Alternating back and forth

Bouncing on our timeline

Feeling lost, lonely, forlorn

I see the first time we kissed

Our cigarettes we shared

I still taste your lips

My lungs deem this unfair

And I can still feel your arms

Warm and like home

I feel you everywhere

See you in everything i know

So how?!

How can i sleep?

When a person who is alive

Is still haunting me...?
