I lay here on my bed
And try to think and think
Just what exactly I should write
With this pen filled with ink.

Should I scribble a poem
With love, sadness, or hope?
Or to continue on all day
To sit around and mope?

I guess inspiration is the way
No… rather the key
To unlock this case of writer’s block
And solve this mystery

Open your eyes, your ears, your nose!
View what you hear, and listen to what you see
Let the words and emotions drip down onto paper
It really works for me!

Well now I guess I’ve proved myself wrong
Because what lies in front of me
Are five little paragraphs
…It’s poetry!
