Inspiration

In black and white, you showed me grey. You knew the night could be brighter than day. In a world of reality, you spoke of fantasy Of magic, dragons, and prophecies Of a lightning scar and of possibility When I was in need of a good friend, You told me of a golden trio. When I was in need of a miracle, You gave me something magical. It was a spell called inspiration. You have never known me, But I will never forget you. You gave me my greatest passion, In the form of a dream I still pursue. You opened my eyes to a world of possibilities Maybe I was a writer from the start. Maybe I was raised a storyteller, Apprenticed to my bedtime stories. The words were always inside of me, But you taught me how to use my creativity Though I’ve read the stories a hundred times There are always more details to find I know it will never stop being fun, Looking to see how much I can learn from The million magical words you wrote years ago
