Inspiration--What a Thought!

Inspiration—what a thought!

The very word that brings dreams once sought

To dreams anew, in a younger mind,

And proceed to works of the greatest kind.

I’ve been inspired, a time or two,

And that’s been important for me getting to do.

I’ve been inspired from sitting and stewing

To getting and going and “How do you do-ing.”

The people before, who have done what I’ve not,

Have taught me just how to avoid future fraught.

Unfulfilled dreams and potential are there

For those who forget who they are and don’t dare.

One such example, if I may expose,

Is a man who through trials and hardship arose.

He rose as an underdog, despite lots of thoughts,

And proved to, well, everyone that he could do lots.

I see you’ve an interest, and so I’ll explain

The wisdom this person has shed on my brain.

I will share just a bit. You can take what you please,

And apply it to you, if you feel you have need.

This one example we will observe—

A hero of mine, and my, he had nerve!

“Rudy,” or Ruettiger as he sometimes was called,

Was nobody special, when it came to football.

Not only that, but also an issue,

He was taught that his smarts were very much few.

And so, from the time he was young we perceive

He thought he was nobody—that’s what he believed.

But then one fine day, all these thoughts turned around.

He was tired of thinking he couldn’t lift off the ground.

He threw all of those thoughts straight out of the door,

And he said to himself, “I’m gonna be something more.”

He learned that with effort, a work he'd complete,

No matter the odds, or how great the feat.

That effort we talk of must be paired with desire,

For that is what drove his great effort like fire.

His persistence, one day, finally paid off in full.

For that is the day that he reached his big goal.

No matter what others had thought he could do,

He proved to them all that their judgements were skewed.

He had become what he had wanted to be,

Instead of what others thought was destiny.

We must learn to pay heed to our desires and wants

And not to what others have said or their taunts.

Sailing abroad on the seven seas,

Through trouble and trial, despite frailties,

Is something quite scary for those who just fret

But also for those who don’t learn from the best.

By learning inspiring stories like this

You too may acquire, in life, what’s called, “bliss.”

Seek from the best books and people you know,

The learning that’s needed for you to shoot up and grow.
