To Inspire

To inspire is to know what we are fighting for

I'm fighting for the little black girl who watched her single mother work with no rest

I'm fighting for the days we didn't know where our next check was coming from

I'm fighting for my siblings in Haiti praying that I make it so they can get into this country

I'm fighting for me....

The girl who saw her family struggle, and wants to become the first in her family to graduate

The girl who's struggled with her weight all her life

The girl who contemplates how she's gonna pay for college

The girl who thought dying would cause all her pain to go away

The girl who wants to be the one to change her circumstance

I'm fighting for a better day

I'm fighting for success

I'm fighting against a system that doesn't want me to win

When I think about what inspires me..

I think of where I came from and where I going to be..

That's My Inspiration.
