Inspired
Inspiration is the stillness of the wind
The hand before its been lend
It's the texture of a book
And the words on the cover forged by pen
For some it's as simple as a grin
For others as large as Belin
But for someone born of African decent
inspiration is the pigment of skin
You are inspired by the scruff on your chin
And her by her bows and her pins
But for someone who inherited poverty
Inspiration lies within
It takes the form of night
And hides within the cracks
For them it takes the form of white
For me it takes the form of black
It stays close by but strays when left alone
It's fluid like water but strong like stone
But because of how the world is
It has turned my lips into its home
Inspiration inspires
And it sure has inspired me
Inspiration is priceless
but always requires fee
Yet mine was overlooked,
Because i had not enough to pay
Inspiration is that gift from God
Its having a dream and repeating the phase
For some it's as simple as a grin
For others as large as Belin
But for someone born of African decent
inspiration is the pigment of skin
