Inspiring Star

Where do I find inspiration?

I find it nearly everywhere I go

I find it in the dirt I fall into, and in the snow

In the cold and winter, in it’s bitter bite

In the unrelenting, hateful night

I find it as I feel my fingers freeze

as I feel my chest begin to squeeze

The very air from inside my chest

I find it in that brief moment of rest

That moment wherein I could choose to let go

I push away the ice and snow

I look up and I am inspired by the miraculous way

The sun shines and overlooks the day

If even one insignificant star

Can so greatly affect a tiny planet from afar

Then I too, an insignificant girl

Can choose to be inspired and thus change the world.
