In An Instant

There was a time

A moment

An instant

A time which has long passed

But can never be forgotten

A feeling

An urge

An unshakable need

To find a way to

Let go

To feel

To understand

To breathe again

That instant brought upon me a need

A solemn, dark, painfully honest demand

To release myself

Into the memories of hurt,

Of fear,

Of complete and utter loneliness

And that urge has brought me here

To this time and place

Pen to paper

Mind to written word

To remember

To create

To release

And to move forward

From a time so far gone

Yet still so close
