Instead...
You long to scream,
But you have no voice.
You want to kick,
But the muscles don’t respond.
You hope you can fight,
But there is no will.
Instead, you stand alone.
Instead, you watch in the dark.
Instead, others find joy in your sorrow.
Instead, you slowly suffocate.
Instead, you silently bear the cross.
Instead, you hope for quiet death.
You long for hope,
But find only despair.
You want to fly away,
But are deterred by chains.
You hope you will have a future,
But there is none for you.
Instead, the noose tightens,
Until you feel, nevermore.
