instead

   more often than not 

 the wrong person is questioned   and punished

  we punish the attacked rather than the attacker

  why is this the case 

 instead of asking her why she wore that dress

 ask him why he cant keep his pants on

    instead of shaming her for  her body 

 shame him for touching it without permission

instead of punishing her for getting upset about being harassed

punish him for harassing her  to begin with 

 instead of blaming those who were shot  

blame the shooter

instead of humiliating those who want to  kill themselves

humiliate those who make them feel that way

  instead of solely blaming parents for childrens misconduct 

blame the world for teaching the child that  its okay 

  instead of trying to change people to be what you want

change yourself to be what you want

instead of mistreating people with mental health issues  

mistreat people who mock mental health issues

 the list could go on and on if i so chose 

but iĺl stop here because i think ive made my point
