The Institution

I would have raised my hand and told you the answer to your question

I didnt know it

My stomach is touching my back im dying of hunger but I wont show it

Parent letter? What parent? I do this shit for me

Im not anti-social I wanted to go to homecoming

but shit isnt free

Im frowning but not because my attitude is fucked up

Im so close to giving up because all the students with a real support system lucked up

and I just have me

I could have A's and B's but my life consists of

C's for confused and D's for a damaged soul

no F's, fuck that I will continue to try

Dont compare me to Suzy Q sitting in the front row proud and attentive

She came in a Range Rover I walked 5 miles,no bus money, im late but I refuse to

go to detention

Did I mention? I work a minimun wage job and shelter comes first
You look me in the eyes and say I should try harder and you dont see all the hurt

you just get the satisfaction of telling all the other students what im lacking.

If education is the key, how the fuck do I end up paying schools?
