Intangible Child

Dear Child,

I do not know the day, time, or year,

For that is my biggest fear.

Creating something so pure,

Yet feeling unsure.

Will you greet me by surprise?

Will you have my eyes?

If everything happens for a reason,

You’d be the best one.

Keep your wild, and share that spirit!

Life was made for you to live it!

No forced religion, only love.

Feel free to find your God above.

I’ll help you follow your dreams,

Over mountains and through streams.

If everything happens for a purpose,

Yours will be the best one.

I hope you have your father's hands,

With your mother’s taste in bands.

I hope your backbone will be strong.

I promise to teach you, right from wrong.

I’ll love you with all my heart,

Even on days we spend apart.

If everything happens for a meaning,

You mean the most to me.

Love,

Mom
