To intellectual opression

Dear judgement,

You have created a girl, her image foreign to her own mind

A glance in the mirror portrays to her nothing but a refracted reversal

A mere phantom of bonds crafted from synthetic affection,

Of words she has deemed worthy only for souls more beautiful than her own

She feels as if she is living her life breathing underwater

The weight of others' absence pushing on her so heavily

That she cannot remember what it's like to breathe without gasping

Words linger in the back of her throat from sentences left unsaid

Her walls painted with phrases unshared and unheard of

A canvas plastered with her introspections reveals a complex pattern of thoughts and intellectuality

That she wishes she could share with the world, but for now

She remains trapped within her journals and adherence to conformity

And is stuck turning empty pages

Until then.
