The Intended Wife

The Intended wife part 4

(Who is big?)

I have woken up earlier than you today

So, you can answer my questions

When you are still sober.

I don’t want you to think that I do

What I do because of what I carry in my calabash.

Yes, mistaken man,

What nonsense do you have this morning again?

What is wrong with you,

Were you born on the right side of the bed?

What woke you to disturb my last nap of sleep

This early morning?

Woman, do you realize you are talking

To a man who owns both you and this house?

Just yesterday you threw me out of my own house,

I want you to tell me this morning,

Who is big in this house?

Why are some men born too foolish?

To understand what they are?

Coming back to you,

Big as in irresponsibility

and Thankless like you or in what sense?

Listen to me you idiot!

The bigness of a man is not in the size

Or how much he spends on drinking and women

A man is a man when he Manages his family accordingly

Woman, shut up that basket mouth before I roar like a male lion,

Stop this moment lest I slap your mouth.

Sit down and let me teach

This dull head what a man is,

Do you expand a family line?

Do you inherit family property?

Do you build a house?

Do you pay dowry?

Do you impregnant a woman?

It is a man who does that.

Challenge my authority and I show you

What a man is made up of You Primitive woman.

Try me this moment and I define for you what fire is,

I will castrate you and leave you manless

I am going to force sense into your empty skull

And you will know that a real man shares responsibility,

go and impregnant stones and

I see how you expand your family line

what a brain that went to school

and became more foolish than before.

Some men are just masculine proper nouns

That make up parts of speech.
