Interim
It’s daunting, daunting, look
Ten years lie ahead of me
They barricade who I am
From whom I want to be
It’s thrilling, thrilling, see
Ten years I’m deep in books
Text tells tales on our insides
I take the time to look
It’s drifting, drifting, feel
Ten years in college out of work
Part time jobs can scrape up pennies
But we’re taught dependence hurts
It’s comfort, comforting
All years hearing heads and hearts
In ten years I’m saving lives;
It’s worth the painful parts
It’s me, it’s me, it’s me
These years ahead though not the same
With my degree, psychology—
The world, I’ll make it change
