Interior

Interior
I am a door
Open me and you will find
much more
Than just the boring kind
of room.
I lead to solace
and comfort
in dark blue sheets
and crumpled shirts.
Filled with body's heat
as it heaves it's chest in sleep.
Close me and you will find
something cold and hard
wooden structure adorned with metal
handles
Edges worn and scarred
I am hollow, like a forgotten kettle,
empty and rusted
on an ancient stove.
Fill me with water,
and I might sing
Knock, and I might
open.
