Intermission

You,

You who tore me down

Who ripped me limb from limb

You took my beating heart, and I caved in.

Disease.

That's what I would call us.

You,

You were cold and callous.

My sleeve is blank.

Let me be frank,

The distruction you caused made me this way.

This is my intermission.

No, it's not your turn to speak.

The stories you write, the lies repeat.

Manipulation,

You were the best at that.

I could drown myself in your abyss.

You never fail to miss

My heart with all the knives you throw.

Like I am a target

And I'm trying my hardest.

Look at my reflection,

It's black and blue.

Please don't leave me

I still love you.

Tell me you'll stay

I'll waste away

Every day

I'll say,

I'll say it was my fault.

I'm the one to blame.

I'm crazy, don't mistake me

You're my everything.

Because I love you,

I'll lie.

I'll wear all this makeup

To hide my black eyes.

I'll put on a smile

And go on with my day

I won't say a word

I'll deny what they say.

My family,

They want to save me.

I'm fine, fine, fine.

I'm okay.

Don't touch me please or visit.

I can't go out today.

My friends have gone.

They disapprove

Of you and everything we do.

I never got to say goodbye

You never let me out

It feels like prison inside our house.

You're the cat and I'm the mouse.

I've tried to move on to another

But we're attracted to each other.

He's just a friend

Please don't let this end.

Leave me be

I want to keep the peace

You raise your hands

This is the end

If you're listening

Help.
