Internal Affliction

Down in a ditch. Hearing sounds of freedom. Wanting to escape but not finding the right way out. Nothing to do but wait. Wait as time goes by and years get older. Old enough to look back at what could have been. Aging and wanting to rewind it all. It wasn't worth it, Apathy is what caused it. And so you look up at the night sky. The only thing keeping you from fear itself. hearing screams from afar. Like a maze with different sounds distracting you. It isn't enough to live a simple life. Sit down and recognize the beauty.

Wow this is good. The thought of trying to escape but not being able to. Please read my poems and tell me what you think.
