internal monster

There’s a monster in my life
It’s like deaths scythe
I’m never free of its penetrating star
I never think I’d care
But one day
I be free and it will pay
I’ll be free of its claws
Free of its glare
Ill no longer cower in a fit of fright, as its roars its powerful might
Ill no longer be in a cage made of its rage
Ill no longer be a prisoner
Of its anger
It’s relentless
Its persistence
Its pride
Its greed
I’ve always cried
Now I’ve seen the seed
I’ve seen its roots
So much pain, I’ll go insane
But I will be free
Free of her stare
Free of her claws
Free of its glare
Ill no longer cower as she towers
Ill no longer run in fright as she roars hr. might
Ill no longer be stuck in her cage of rage
Ill no longer be in pain I might actually stay
Sane
Or I might become the monster
I might become…

dispair
