Internally Grown

single Mother

single Father

three individual children

your dad doesn't care about you

your mom is mentally ill

this is how life is supposed to be

broken glasses

slammed doors

bleeding wounds

a little heart that cried out for help nine times

by ten it would have been too long

by ten the heart knew

this is not how life is supposed to be

Honest

Bright

Full of love

the life the heart hoped for

the heart took control like a mother

who didnt want her kids to see their father

like a father who didnt want to take any accountability for his actions

hostility turned into Calmness

blame turned into Empathy

despair turned into Hope

sadness turned into Compassion

a blessin

by now the heart had learned its lesson
