Introduction to an artist

There's a fire burning deep beneath my chest

hot enough to make any demon break out in a cold sweat

look at my pain and my pride

embers dancing every time I take a breath

pain in my eyes

I'm sleeping with lies

what lies beyond insanity if I take another step

I used to pray so I wouldn't go to hell

my demons are way to personal now

furiously writing

addicted to hiding

my addictions are starting to look like my sins

Im keeping score on the edge of my skin

where imperfection begins and my ego blends

can a false start even have an end

rember when I was ten and I was so awkward

and those kids carved nobody on his red locker

Sitting in church wishing I had a dollar

I'd give anything but my soul was all I could offer

i didn't realize a house could be so empty without a father

keep running

don't stop

so I ran even farther

my breathing got harder

those kids whose clothes were a little brighter without stretched out collars

Decided I wasn't fit to be left alone

everyday they'd hit harder

now I'm swinging back with full force until I collapes

I'm too wound up and I'm ready to snap

but I won't break

not today
