Introspection
Inwardly peeking at my own skin and flesh,
My body, my bones, my organs, my breath,
Voicing whispers in listening ears,
I am disgusted by my leaking tears.
Silently mourning my happiness death
My mind, my emotion, my joy undressed,
Keeping my feelings locked away in a tower,
I unconsciously yield my mental illness power.
Finally recognizing I need help,
My sadness, my loneliness, my inadequate state of health,
Realizing that life shouldn’t be just surviving,
I want to experience what it’s like to be thriving.
Flowing like a river deep in my veins,
My blood is restored, I’ve been saved,
My full potential can now be released,
A burden off my shoulders, finally free.
Beautifully blooming like an indigo foxglove,
My body nourished, my renewed self-love,
Staring at the lovely, watercolor sky,
My old introspection has revolutionized.
