Introspection

As I think about this carved out rock,
I stare at the darkened mouth,
And though I tell my eyes to lock
The darkness fills me with doubt.

Their dark arms embrace me
As I enter this brooding cave.
Within myself I can surely see
So many wrongs from every day.

Yet there is some good that lies within.
What can seem rather ominous
And surrounded soley by sin
Can turn out to be hollowed, porous.

As I stare through the cracks
I see a burning light.
Devotion has never lacked
Even through this dark, damp night.

For what I believe,
I will burn.
