Intruder

Depression keeps banging on my door
Why does he keep bothering me
The thoughts are too wild to ignore
Why can’t he let me be

Somehow depression found the key
I shielded my ears from the sound
But he ripped the blankets off of me
I stomped my feet on the ground

I shouted, you can’t take me
I covered my ears
And shouted you can’t break me
I looked in the mirror

I’ll be okay
The depression will go away
