Invigorating Struggle

"It's all up to me..." My mind racing at the speed of light, flying over cement cracks, my Nike shoes beating the pavement like a drum. Squinting under the sun, all goes quiet inside. Running. Running. Because my head is a clear-sighted jewel, one sole purpose is to shine, to find the ending of the journey. Leaving behind the world and escaping these sided issues, I am cleansed by the sweat. Sometimes, I get frightened and my breathing heaves but then it subsides and I am one in this moment. Releasing dopamine into me, feeling the muscles clench, I see the goal up ahead. That single white mansion welcoming me, showers me in praise, I have made it once more.
