Ion Polarity

It’s not about feeling sad

But rather a lack thereof.

Not a mind that is toil clad

But one that is naked and cold

No rain or storm dons the skies,

Just clouds that mildly cover.

A smile is the excellent guise

Of a fight that’s far from over.

So with deception

One makes connections

To give the impression

Of false redemption

A façade of affection

That upon closer inspection

Shows extreme infection,

Continuous rejection,

Unachieved perfection,

Intense self-conviction,

And bad predilections.

Objection!

This invention

Is for my protection

A purposeful creation

Not a false extension

But a hopeful projection

By conscious election,

Of my own volition

For my innovation,

Self actualization,

For pain prevention,

And one day evolution

Or so I tell myself.

It’s not about feeling sad

But rather a lack thereof.

Not a mind that is toil clad

But one that is naked and cold

No rain or storm dons the skies,

Just clouds that mildly cover.

A smile is the excellent guise

Of a fight that’s far from over.

Depression.
