iperson
Introducing the new and improved iperson. Crack a smile. Look certain.
Smooth on the surface, I’m easy to use and I’ll be at your service-
Message… received...
Humans used to learn from experience, now they google it, is there a difference?
Conversations in person are now calls on the phone, but texting is more commonly prone
So many iphones, ipods, ipads that there isn’t enough eye contact
Oh look, there’s a fight let me record it and post it- my followers must be bored plus I’m sure I'll get a lot of likes, that’s better than getting disliked
Never before has a generation so diligently recorded themselves accomplishing so little
It used to be hard to connect when friends formed cliques but now clicks form friends
They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away but that isn’t the case nowadays
There is irony in the phrase social media, we’re not as social as were to be appraised
They are called cell phones for a reason, we are convicted of treason
We live in the era of smartphones but that contradicts everything we know
We panic when our devices die but what about the lives of the unnoticed that go by
The personification of technology is just as real as sedimentation of humanity
The decrease in our attention span is less than that of a goldfish by a second
Now my intention is to get your attention
Please put your devices away, disconnect to connect- there’s no need to be afraid
Advancement of technology was initially to upgrade your life, not for us to crash your hard drive
Instead of using technology, we live it blindfoldedly
It appears Einstein was right, that the fight for tech has exceeded our humanity
Strip people of their tech, see what’s left
Unplug them from their source of procrastination, the reason they have no motivation
You don’t need to post it to prove it
Don’t use social media to impress but to impact, use it to connect and to share
I just hope technology one day is advanced enough to make us human again
