Iris
Iris! Iris! Where have you gone?
Your petals have all but fallen
And you’ve left me here, calling, and calling.
Can you hear me?
Or has the fog taken to blocking my cries,
Iris! Iris! Please come back
You stopped the gloom of impending clouds,
Protected those from the abiding rain,
And all the while you
Never asked for anything in return.
Iris! Iris! Where have you gone?
Will I ever see your lavender petals again?
Or shall I have to suffer this barren landscape,
Absent of your joyous presence,
For without out you I am truly lost.
Iris! Iris! Please come back
I looked up to you like a child to their parents,
You kept me from leaving this place
And now it is you who left.
Iris! Iris! Why did you go?
