Iron Stained Face
Hallowed footsteps resound through the
Caverns.
Caverns strewn about the
Estuaries.
Estuaries of my
Veins.
Veins ruptured infuse with
Tears.
Tears rust within the trenches of my
Jowls.
Jowls glisten in the eclipse upon the ragged
Surface.
Surface of my iron tarnished
Face.
Face the bitter whispering
Wind.
Wind biting at my callous
Flesh.
Flesh that begs to be
Flayed.
Flayed, stretched, a half-mast
Guidon.
Guidon weeping crimson for the
Fallen.
Fallen at the weir betwixt Empyrean and
Earth.
Earth cradling the
Cadavers.
Cadavers of warriors
Perished.
Perished blood composes the alluvium of her
Pulse.
Pulse ceasing to flow
Collapses.
Collapses, a spouses anguish echoes in the
Caverns.
Caverns where hallowed footsteps never
Cease.
