Irony
I find it ironic that people will come to me with their problems
When I can’t even solve my own.
They come to me like I have all the answers,
Like a cheat sheet to this funny thing called life
And I guess the root problem comes from me always being there
‘If you ever need to talk, I’m here’
‘What’s wrong?’
‘Are you okay?’
I care to much about people
Because I know what it is like to feel like
You have no worth in life
To feel like you are a waste of space
I find it ironic that people will come to me with their problems
When I can’t even solve my own.
I am not a psychiatrist or a therapist or a life coach
Please do not ask me what to do next
Because my answers more than likely are at the end of a bottle
Or the sharp side of a blade
I am not a coat rack to hang your problems on
Because I am already full of my own
I am not good at math
So please go solve your own problems
But if you ever need to talk,
I’m here
If you ever need help
I’m here
If you ever need a shoulder to cry on
I’m here
Do not abuse my wanting to help people
Because then there will be nothing left
I want to help you but if you constantly need help
I don’t know how to help
I am only one person
I am not a coat rack
Or a math problem
Or an answer book
I am only one person
But if you ever need to talk about something
I am here.
